ARTIST STATEMENT:
I edited this video with a lot of intent, although the simplicity and cut of it might seem straightforward and plain. You can hear that majority of the audio is included and untouched. While some may consider this video to be "silent", the clips don't have background music to it for a purpose. I wanted it to take viewers into my shoes when I was there, listing to nothing but the wind, and the birds' morning calls.
I made this video more about reflecting the actual experience into a short 5 minute "moving album", like a collection of memories, rather than a vlog where a tour of the treehouse is featured alongside of an explanation of what was going on. I chose to do that more for myself than any other reason. I wanted to create something artistic to incapsulate the memories we made there, and this little video would be something I will look back to years from now. I wanted to share this with anyone who might be inspired to visit this place or have the perspective I have on the importance of family, cherishing nature, etc etc. (I blab SO much).

Because this isn't quite a vlog, I thought there need be at least some explanation... So for those of you who are curious:

For my sister's birthday, she wanted to take a mini-vacation to northern California (the bay area). The three of us went out and found a quirky B&B right outside of San Francisco (It was found on the Air Bnb site, and yes the link to the exact listing is below). Anyways, I do hope that you enjoyed this. Even though it really isn't about what you think because I like it and it's all that matters... LMAO

Anyways, they thought it would be something different we haven't experienced before. I simply tagged along not knowing what to expect. Basically, it was pretty amazing. Simple, but fun!
The isolation really let me just have fun with the tree house, with each other, and for once in a long time, it isn't about hitting all the shops, the tourist sites, all the busy and famous places. Just us, family, together, and a house in a tree. Funny. Thanks for reading :-)
