Dani's Friend: A Dog Named Hopey

When Hopey the dog came home from the Bangor Humane Society, Dani Dennison of Hermon, Maine had no idea what was about to happen. Hopey is a terrier mix who soon decided she had to be where ever Dani was. These days the two are inseparable. If Dani is out for a walk Hopey is just a few feet behind her. If Dani is having a bad day, Hopey seems to sense it. This is the story of two inseparable friends.

This story is told in a broadcast news format called a "natural sound piece." The goal is to tell a story ONLY using video, sound and interviews. In other words, without narration, text or a reporter. Journalism Major David Furtado shot and produced this story in the fall of 2016 for a class called ENG- electronic news gathering.
