Juliana Carver - Still in Intensive Care! (Oct 12 - 19, 2016)

On the evening of October 6, 2016 Tammy and I knew Juliana's breathing was getting VERY bad. Hospice had delivered oxygen the day before and we started using it, almost, right away. That evening, October 6, I stayed up most of the night watching Juliana sleep and keeping an eye on her breathing even though she was on oxygen. We brought a blow-up bed and put it in our bedroom so she could sleep next to us.

The morning of October 7, 2016 when Tammy drained over 500ml from Juliana's right lung (a tube is in her chest leading to her lung) we knew it was time to rush her back to the hospital. Early, that evening we were told a breathing tube had to be placed in Juliana. Doctors said that Juliana would, probably, go into CARDIAC ARREST because she had so much fluid around her heart as a result of her fighting cancer for the 8th time.

We were asked to say our FINAL GOODBYE to Juliana as she was not expected to survive. I SOBBED AND SOBBED! Her heart did stop but an amazing Doctor Kristen Nelson McMillan did CPR on Juliana which saved her life. Juliana remained in Critical Condition. My hope is that if enough people will see what kids go through as they attempt to fight a WAR against cancer there may be a chance that cures will be funded (http://childrenscancerfoundation.org/) and cures be found in order to save tens of thousands...HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of children's lives.

Juliana is just one example...our family is just one family of THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS who have fought and are fighting this EVIL monster called cancer.

Juliana has a LONG way to go and her health is VERY POOR BECAUSE OF CANCER! We hope to START her cancer treatments next week. Specifically, she will be getting Nivolumab. We haven't been able to do so because of her lungs shutting down.

Please help me continue to share Juliana's journey so more people can "put a face to this disease" and understand these are REAL KIDS fighting for their very LIVES.
