A Patient's Journey - Anaesthesiology, ICU & Patient Care

In this video we take a detailed look at the various procedures a patient who has sustained serious trauma goes through to maintain his vital statistics through the Trauma Room in the Accident & Emergency department, the Operating Theatre, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Patient Ward. Then later follow him as he returns to hospital for management of his chronic pain issues via the Outpatient Clinic.

Unknown to many, all of these activities are overseen by the Department of Anaesthesiology by doctors from each of their three divisions, the Anaesthetist overseeing all procedures in the operating theatre, the Intensivist overseeing activities in the Trauma Room and ICU and the Pain Management Doctor overseeing the care and treatment of a patient's pain the Ward and Outpatient Clinic.
