There are few things as nerve-racking as a first date. From deciding what to wear, to bringing your A-game, it can be tough to nail all aspects of a perfect first date when you’re feeling overwhelmed. The good news is that there are some helpful tricks you can use to get yourself a second date.

Now today I want to talk to you about something that any single woman will find helpful, and that’s tricks to leave him wanting more. Or simply put, how to nail the first date so that he’ll want to see you again.

1. Express certainty

There’s nothing as unattractive as a woman who’s blatantly negative or down on life, especially while on a date. That’s a given. However what isn’t so well known is the fact that expressing uncertainty can be just as unattractive. Consider this.

Let’s say you’re on a date and the guy you’re with asks if you’re into the latest Marvel movie. If you answer with “kind of” or “a bit” it’s not going to do much for you. On the other hand if you say “YES! I LOVE IT!” then that’s going to show him your outgoing personality.

Now, this doesn’t mean that you should lie about your interests, but the point is to bring up the things you’re passionate about, and when you do, be ready to defend what you love in a fun and playful way. These kind of interactions on first dates will most definitely leave him wanting more.

2. Say, “I bet you’d be fun to do *that* with.”

Once you find out what the guy you’re dating is into, use his interests to subtly compliment him. For instance, if you know that he’s really into art then you could say, “I bet you’d be fun to go to a museum with.” Or, if he’s really into music then “I bet you’d be fun to go to a show with.”

This trick works wonders for making him want more for a couple reasons.

First, it shows that you’re listening to him, and making note of the things he’s into. Second, you’re complimenting him by telling him that you think he’s well versed in something, and lastly, you’re subtly suggesting another date, or at least planting the seed for one.

This may seem like a simple idea, but believe me ladies, he’ll appreciate this one!

3. Say yes to the little things.

Whether he’s asking if you’d like to go for a stroll after your date, or is suggesting that you do get dessert, saying yes to the little things will show him that you’re a free-spirited woman who is up for having a good time.

Since saying “yes” is one of the easiest ways to show your positivity, doing so will make him want to see you again.

4. Compliment him

Whether you comment on his shirt or his shoes, simply telling your date that he looks good will make him want to see you again. Like us women, most men also worry about what they’ll wear on a first date, which is why taking the time to compliment him will speak volumes to him.

Just be careful not to go over the top here. If you ramble or list all the aspects of his attire that you like then you may come across as desperate, or even a bit unhinged. Keep your composure. Make him feel good about himself, but don’t jeopardize your own image.

5. Know what you want.

If there’s one thing that tends to come up on most first dates, it’s relationships. And by this I mean talking about what it is that you are looking for.
