Groovin some Zeppelin with Deraps live at La Face de Beouf in Thetford Mines, Quebec, August 30th 2019.

This show was an interesting one. We had two types of gigs during these trips, there'd be the short set festival shows that we'd fill with originals and showcase covers, and then there were the 3-4 hour bar/private party shows which we'd fill with mostly party songs & some originals. This was one of the bar shows where we'd usually bring our own PA, which we had a "set & leave" setting for which we knew inside out & would never fail us. However this gig was one of the "don't bring your PA" bar shows which is always a risky bet considering the sheer, overwhelming volume power of our band. The stage was super resonant too which resulted in the engineer, who was only there for soundcheck, barely able to get any signal coming through the onstage monitors without major feedback. Even for an acoustic act it seemed like the speakers wouldn't be able to get over the artist, more likely faulty monitors. The first set was pretty disastrous, struggling to get a vibe going & stay on pitch because we couldn't hear our vocals one bit, which for a 4 hour Bon Scott, Axl Rose, Brian Johnson, Steven Tyler vocal heavy set can absolutely wreck your voice. So following the first set we were super discouraged and pissed off, so we said fuck it, downed some beers and suddenly tore the roof off the place, people were on tables, storming the stage to feed the band booze, brandishing gigantic vodka bottles 🤣 you name it. That's one way to troubleshoot a doomed set due to technical difficulties 🍻. So apologies for the lack of vocals in the video, you're hearing what we were hearing on the night and its probably for the best 🤣

Boy what a trip it is to watch this footage, this year was the last that the boys in Quebec and I got together for our annual Quebec tour, which was due to become a full-time thing on a much larger scale. I even secured a visa (which is now void) the following year but we all know what happened. Miss the guys so much and its a crime that we haven't been able to play together for over 2 years now. What I can tell you though is that we haven't given up on the dream, the embers of the fire still burns BRIGHT! We have our debut LP album in the can, mixed & mastered ready to roll ASAP. Unfortunately we both reside in two of the states with some of the most ridiculous, inhumane authoritarian measures in the world regarding this current crisis so it's a matter of when these measures are lifted. Many are beginning to see through the cracks so here's hoping this year provides an end to this and the beginning of Deraps! In the meantime enjoy these videos from the "archives" 🤣
