Doctor Who Festival Announcement - Minneapolis Armory, October 1986 KTCA (PBS)

This is an announcement for the Doctor Who Festival held on October 4, 1986 at the Minneapolis Armory, featuring the "Two Doctors" Patrick Troughton and Colin Baker. This announcement aired several times prior to the festival, but this particular instance was recorded on September 19, 1986 prior to the airing of the second half of the Jon Pertwee story "Inferno."

The festival marked the one and only chance that Twin Cities fans had to meet Patrick Troughton before his untimely passing about six months later. And unfortunately for Colin Baker, this was right around the time he learned that he was fired from Doctor Who...though it wasn't something that Festival attendees knew anything about.

Still, it was a great time for all in attendance and I still have my autographs from Troughton and Baker as proof that I was there.
