KTCA Channel 2 PBS - Doctor Who Pledge Break, February 1986

Here is a KTCA Channel 2 pledge break from February 28, 1986, recorded during the broadcast of the first half of the Doctor Who story "The Sensorites." This particular evening had members of the local Doctor Who fan club, the "Whovian Elite" operating the phones.

Once the bane of any American Doctor Who fan, PBS pledge breaks did offer the convenient opportunity to visit the toilet and grab a snack from the kitchen...especially if you weren't recording the program with your VCR. Now it's kind of fun to look back at one of these pledge breaks and see the fans operating the phones and to take a look at the "thank you" gifts that were offered.
