6 Financial Accomplishments of 2019 [Raise, Budget, Rent-Hacking]

In this video I review the 6 big money wins and successes of the last year (note: none of them are "gambling winnings" or "winning the lottery"). I was very fortunate to have good year financially and I am looking forward to continuing that in 2020.

My 6 financial accomplishments of 2020 are:
1. Negotiating A Raise - I got a 20% raise at my previous company when I moved to Atlanta, Georgia
2. AirBnB-ing My Apartment - I rented out my apartment on AirBnB when I left town on business trips. This is almost like rent-hacking, a similar concept to house hacking, but instead with a rented apartment. This income stream is something I plan to tap into in again in 2020.

3. Budgeting With Debit Card - I used a debit card and checking account app called Empower to budget and control my spending and accelerate my debt free journey while in baby step 2

4. Paying Off Debt (~$10K) - Paid of approximately $10,000 in credit card and personal loan debt

5. Apartment-Free Living - I moved my stuff out of my apartment and into a storage unit to save on housing costs while I was out of town for 2 months on a work trip, where I earned per diem, hotel points and airline miles while completely eliminating my rent payments

6. New Job In New York - I got a new job at an engineering consulting firm in New York with a substantial pay increase
