Self Treatment For Hip Joint and Lower Back Pain: Tensor Fasciae Latae Myofascial Release
Personal Trainer, Kai Simon out of San Diego, CA shows you a technique that is used to relieve hip joint and lower back pain caused by trigger points in the tensor fascia latae. The tensor fascia latae is a muscle of the hip that functions to assist with hip flexion and stabilization during knee flexion it also helps with stabilizing the pelvis during walking gait. When this muscle becomes tight and shortened it can cause pelvic imbalances that lead to pain in the hip, the low back and the lateral portion of the knee. Activities that can cause dysfunction in the muscle tissue include sitting for long periods of time, biking, running, walking, and climbing.
