Suwen Li

Suwen Li is training in the lab of Dr. Gay Crooks. Her research focuses on finding new stem cell-based treatments for babies born without a thymus, which is the organ that produces T cells (the body’s immune cells). In this video, she describes how she’s using pluripotent stem cells to create fully functioning thymuses in the hopes of one day being able to provide transplantable versions of this vital organ to babies born without it.
