Seeing colourful mushrooms up close. When all is calm and I lie on the ground photographing mushrooms up close, I can virtually hear the lively virtual chatter below me in the soil. The trees around me are talking to each other using the forest wide fungal hyphae network. They also use this network to exchange ideas on adapting to the daily changes in climatic conditions. These fungi supply each plant as required with water, nutrients and chemicals for healthy growth and be resilient to adverse conditions. The plant community has been in balance and attuned with nature for many thousands of years. The colourful mushrooms we see in the forests are the fungal fruiting bodies, like apples in an orchard.
