How To Make Homemade Bread Recipe with Walnuts and Raisins | Rahiza Dorah

I’m not an expert with bread making.  I bake bread once in a while at home.  Although I usually use the stand mixer, I don’t like the resting period and kneading the dough can be very tiring.  Bread is nice to eat on the day it was baked.  I don’t like to keep my bread for the next day.  However, if I can’t finish them, I will keep it in a ziplock bag in the fridge and reheat the bread in the microwave for breakfast the next day. 
 
This is the first time I tried this recipe which I tweaked a little here and there.  It’s not as soft as I would like it to be but it’s ok for a day’s homemade bread that you can be proud of making for your family to eat 😊  It could be because of the proportion of liquid and dry ingredients or maybe of the way I handled the dough during kneading and resting.

Preheat oven to 215 deg C for about 15 mins
 
\\ Ingredients
 
500g     bread flour
1tsp      salt
1tsp      cinnamon powder
1/4tsp   mixed spice
70g       castor sugar
25ml     vegetable oil
3g        dough conditioner / bread improver
1          egg
8g        instant dry yeast
320ml   milk
120g     raisins
45g       walnuts
1 fruit    orange juice and orange rind
 
 
Egg wash:
1          egg yolk
1tbsp    water
A pinch of salt
