Yellowstone - Playtime in Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park is the world's first national park, the grandaddy of them all. An ancient super volcano, this place is alive with boiling mud, shooting geysers, steaming pits and crystal clear rivers. The wildlife viewing in Yellowstone is among the best in all the parks, and there are opportunities to see everything from marmots to wolves.

This is a large national park, and it will take some time to visit all of the highlights. Most people head straight for Old Faithful, but there are plenty of of other sights that are just as spectacular. Numerous geyser basins have nice sturdy boardwalks that allow visitors to go where they otherwise wouldn't and lead to views that may have even surprised ol John Colter himself. This was long ago known as Colter's Hell after all...

Yellowstone is home to a wide number of activities, from hiking to kayaking and even the roadways can bring a wild eye to those who stick to the pavement.
