What If...? – Paramount / Amblin (Steven Spielberg's The Rivals)
On May 21, 2003, Steven Spielberg was set to direct and produce The Rivals for Paramount Pictures, with Robin Swicord writing the screenplay. Nicole Kidman and Gwyneth Paltrow were set to play 19th century stage actors Sarah Bernhardt and Eleanor Duse, respectively, until Marion Cotillard replaced Paltrow. In 2008, Spielberg left the project due to DreamWorks' split from Paramount. Follow me and ponder the question, "What if...?"
