French yellow vest protesters met by riot police

(20 Nov 2021) Yellow vest Protesters marked the third anniversary of their protest movement marching through Paris on Saturday in a tense display of their continued rage.
Police fired tear gas in the afternoon to disperse them and then followed their protest to maintain order as it reached its close in the south end of Paris' Left Bank.
The Yellow vests' first protest started on November 17th, 2018, when they took to the streets in what was initially a fight against fuel hikes.
Their movement would come to encompass many things but the overarching theme was that they were overlooked by the government and unable to make ends meet in the globalised economy.
Their return on the scene in small numbers coincides with the start of the French presidential campaign and amid rising costs of living, fuel and inflation.
