Venus Lake - Washington State

Venus Lake is one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in the world, but is remote and seldom visited. In this video we hike from the Salmon la Sac trailhead to Waptus Lake, then up to Spade Lake and then take the scramblers route to Venus Lake. On the second day we scrambled to the ridgetop overlooking Circle Lake and continued along the ridgetop to the gates of The Citadel. With its crystal clear lakes, interesting rock formations and many tarns, this area is magical and a prime example of what makes backpacking in the Pacific Northwest so special.
