Why this AuDHDer Struggles to Find LOVE !

As an autistic person with ADHD, I feel like I missed the social cues for how relationships actually work.

It’s not that I don’t understand relationships as an idea. I do. I’ve seen them in movies, books, and in other people’s lives.

I can even give good relationship advice sometimes, objectively.

But when I try to imagine myself in a relationship, it feels unfamiliar. Almost like there’s a gap between what I understand in theory and what I can recognize in my own life.

There’s also a difference between my masked self and my unmasked self. The masked version of me can talk about relationships easily. The unmasked version doesn’t even know how to place herself inside one.

Even posting this feels strange. I already deleted one version before sharing this because it felt too exposed and difficult to explain.

I don’t know if others relate to this, but this is what relationships have felt like for me.
