Olympia (3) - The Original Olympic Stadium - The Finish Line (Balbis)

One of most famous ancient cities in the world, Olympia was the birthplace of the Olympic Games.
A beautiful city in a stunning location, Olympia has a feel to it unlike any other ancient city in Greece.
The finish line of the stadium is around 192m from the start line. Looking back towards the start line, one can get an insight into the scale of the stadium. It's simply huge, probably due to the extra long track compared with modern athletics stadiums, which take athlete's around in a circle.
This finish line is the balbis, which is curved and was used in races where there was a turn, so those on the inside did not gain an advantage over those on the outside.
This video was recorded in HD on 4th October, 2015.
