Grossly Overcharged Rheem Central AC System with a Loud Compressor - Let Me Guess, Filter Dirty?

Got called out for a very loud compressor when the system shuts off. After performing general maintenance on all 3 AC system condensers, I found the 4 ton Rheem R410A grossly overcharged by over 4lbs. Why? I'm wagering the filter was dirty on a previous service call and the tech overcharged the system. Lesson: Don't rely on the client to tell you the filter is clean. Check it yourself.
