Germany's 19th Century Fairytale Castles

The 1800s saw a revived interest in castles. Having largely been abandoned in favour of Baroque and Neoclassical palaces in the preceding centuries, the growth of Romanticism inspired many princes and wealthy individuals to return to renovate or completely rebuild them. Here we’ll take a look at five examples of that from Germany.
