William the Bad of Sicily: A surprisingly good king
William I, or "the Bad", was never supposed to become king. He had three elder brothers who all died before their father, and so he wasn't prepared for the role that he found himself in. Dispite that, he managed to not only hold on to power, but also to strengthen it, much to the annoyance of the nobles within the kingdom, who would do much to give him his unenvialbe reputation.
