How To Make Video Lighting With Inexpensive Fluorescent Light Bulbs

Using daylight spectrum compact fluorescent light bulbs and materials I could find at local hardware stores, I created lighting fixtures for video production efforts. The intent of these these lights is to illuminate interview subjects but also to light just about anything (also work well for studio photography). The lights work great and at the end of the how-to video I show a link to an actual video where I used these very lights for the interview segments. Let me know what you think in the comments.

The main key is to light up the amount of bulbs desired with powered light sockets. That is pretty easy but as visual producers we want to control our light as much as possible so building a structure to do so is a good idea.

Materials:
-100 watt comparable "daylight" output CF bulbs
- mountable light sockets
- light socket splitters
- reflector the bulbs and sockets will fit into
- material for diffusion (optional)
- hardware (bolts and nuts)
- sacrificial grounded connection cord
