PORTLAND RIOTS CONTINUE: Portland Police Association Vandalized and Set on Fire

For the 71st consecutive day, protesters in Portland, Oregon took to the streets for something. In a state with a black population of less than 6% and one of the most liberal governments in the country, it’s not clear what protesters want other than the freedom to destroy. Luckily, their local officials mostly comply.

With the focus no longer on the Hatfield Federal Courthouse building, the protesters have moved on to police buildings near residential neighborhoods. The Portland Police Association (essentially, the union) office has become the go-to target. On Saturday night, the protesters vandalized the outside of the building again, used dumpsters as barricades, broke through a window, and then set a fire inside.

The police told the protesters they were breaking the law and would be subjected to crowd control measures, at which point the protesters threw bottles containing paint at the police and pointed powerful green lasers at them.

The police did not use teargas.
