A consumer in Thailand reports that many stores have installed scanners at their entrances that require people to enter one at a time.

The scanners then check each person’s temperature and verify that they are wearing a face covering.

If the potential shopper either is running a temperature or does not have a face covering, then the system denies entry.

Using technology instead of an employee to scan for potential issues cuts down on those awkward encounters when 16-year-old store clerks have to fight with unruly patrons who don’t want to follow the rules.

Apparently, schools in Scotland are using the same sort of set up, so don’t be surprised if this technology finds its way to a store near you.
