Doreen Morrow - "Deep in My Heart, Dear" THE STUDENT PRINCE (Romberg) 1961

The popular soprano, Doreen Morrow, was born in New Zealand and enjoyed a career performing in opera, musical comedy and on radio. In Australia, she appeared in productions of many of the operettas of Gilbert & Sullivan, PETER GRIMES, FIDELIO, RIGOLETTO, IL TRITTICO, MADAMA BUTTERFLY, THE MAGIC FLUTE, KISMET, THE STUDENT PRINCE, THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO, THE BARBER OF SEVILLE, OKLAHOMA, DON PASQUALE, BORIS GODUNOV and SCHOOL FOR FATHERS. Doreen Morrow was married to the tenor Robert Gard until her death at an early age. Recordings of her voice are rare and this song from Romberg's THE STUDENT PRINCE (in extremely poor sound restoration) comes from her British radio debut on The Vic Oliver Show in 1961.
