Lone Koppel & Claes H. Ahnsjö - "Fuggi, crudele, fuggi!" DON GIOVANNI (Mozart) 1971

The excellent Danish soprano, Lone Koppel, was a regular guest with Opera Australia from her debut in 1973 to her final appearance there in 1997. Her roles with the national company included Tosca, Salome, Venus, Jenny in THE RISE & FALL OF THE CITY OF MAHAGONNY, Jenufa and the Kostelnicka, the Composer in ARIADNE ON NAXOS, Marie in WOZZECK, Abigaille, Senta, Micaela, Donna Elvira, Ortrud and Madame de Croissy in DIALOGUES OF THE CARMELITES. She is heard here, some years before her Australian debut, in a concert performance of Mozart's DON GIOVANNI. Lone Koppel is Donna Anna opposite the Ottavio of Swedish tenor Claes H. Ahnsjö in their Act I duet. The performance was sung in Danish and Gerd Albrecht conducts the Danish National Radio Choir and Symphony Orchestra at the Concert Hall, Copenhagen April 2nd 1971.
