Fauci is an ‘A plus promoter and a D grade doctor’

Former President Donald Trump has hit out at Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci, accusing him of being a “bureaucrat” who is more adept at self-promotion than he is as a researcher.

Mr Trump said he was not informed that the National Institutes of Health, a research body Dr Fauci is involved with, reversed an Obama-era ban on ‘gain-of-function research.

On December 19, 2017, the NIH announced it would resume funding gain-of-function research involving MERS, SARS, coronaviruses and influenza after a new “framework” was developed.

Gain-of-function is where researchers take a pathogen and modify it, often to make it more virulent or more transmissible.

Speaking with Sky News host Sharri Markson as part of her exclusive documentary, ‘What Really Happened in Wuhan’, Mr Trump said Dr Fauci is a “C or D” grade doctor.

“Anthony has been in government for many years, he’s a bureaucratic kinda guy,” Mr Trump told Ms Markson.

“He’s a very great promoter, I give him an A plus as a promoter and probably a C or a D as a doctor.”
