Urban Hiking Near Nashville (While Planning to Thru-Hike the Benton MacKaye Trail)

On most Sundays, I get up before the sun rises to go walking/running in my neighborhood. This Sunday I did the same. My route was from my house toward the trail system maintained by the City of Brentwood, TN. Along the way, I went through Primm Park and Marcella Vivrette Smith Park. The small square brick house in the video is Boiling Springs Academy, a one-room schoolhouse from the 1800s.

While doing my urban hike, I had another hike on my mind: the Benton MacKaye Trail. I'm going to thru-hike it in April, and the question I've been asking myself is this: What's the best way to prepare for a one-month thru-hike?

In this video, I answer the question, and publicly state my training plan.
