Power Mac G4 Cube (Part 2) – Wind5387

Video Highlights:
0:00 – Intro
0:25 – Detailed look at Apple Studio Display (17-in., ADC, CRT)
2:33 – Bootup + tour in Mac OS X Public Beta

This is part 2 of the Power Mac G4 Cube, and I have now obtained the CRT Apple Studio Display – Apple's last standalone CRT display.

This display was introduced alongside a whole bunch of new/updated products at MacWorld New York 2000 – including the Power Mac G4 (Gigabit Ethernet), an updated iMac series, the G4 Cube, and the Pro Keyboard and Mouse. This is one of the slightly forgotten but very much iconic designs from this timeframe with Apple. The case is completely clear, which I think is really cool and makes this stand out even from Apple's own displays of the time. In addition, this display (and the other new displays introduced at that event) featured the new Apple Display Connector (ADC). With this connector, the display received the video, USB, and power from the computer! So, instead of 3 cables, there's just 1 cable.

Price when new [G4 Cube]: $1599 (450MHz PPC G4, 20GB HDD, 128MB RAM, CD-RW)
"Power Mac G4 Cube. So much technology. So little space."
Price when new [Studio Display]: $499
"The 17-inch Apple Studio Display helps keeps your projects in sync."
Enjoy! Rate, comment, and subscribe!
