Esther Perel analyzes the dynamics of modern relationships
Esther Perel looks into the dynamics of modern relationships and analyzes the most common argument patterns of couples. In the interview she used a scene from the movie Before Midnight by Richard Linklater, in which protagonists Jesse and Celine get into a big fight, to show how harmony, disharmony and repair are the rhythm of a couple.
Perel also talks about her podcast ‘Where should we begin?’, in which she invites and listens to couples and their relationships.
“What’s originally attractive in a relationship often becomes the source of arguments later. That is one of the great truths of couples.”
“The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.”
