International Artist Series
Launched in November 2012, the Barnard International Artists Series is a forum that considers the world through the works of contemporary artists and thinkers. Curated by Professor Hisham Matar, the series invites writers, filmmakers, dancers, dramatists, visual artists, architects, and composers from all over the world to speak about and show their work at Barnard. The first event welcomed film makers Xu Xing and Andrea Cavazzuti for a screening and discussion about their documentary "5+5," which tells the story of an artists' community in Beijing.
