Karelia - Kalitki: a popular Russian snack | What's cookin'

Karelia lies in the North of Europe, it is partly Finnish but mainly belongs to Russia. Languages and customs that were banned under Soviet rule are slowly returning, like Karelian dishes such as Kalitki or Kalakukko. Roman Leontjew is a potter. The father of three makes the ceramic pots, in which traditional dishes are roast in the wood-fired oven for hours on snowy afternoons.
What's cookin' is about traditional culinary recipes from different European regions.
