Backpacking Utah/The Dirty Devil South/Happy Canyon Narrows/Walking The Block/8 Day Off Trail Loop

This is an 8 day backpacking trip I did with my friend Jarl in southern Utah. We followed Steve Allen's Dirty Devil South route from his book "Canyoneering 2". Almost all of this route is trail-less, and we only ran into one person. We crossed the Red Benches, spent time in Fiddler Cove Canyon and Hatch Canyon, we hiked up the Dirty Devil River to the Happy Canyon Narrows, climbed up to the Big Ridge, and walked The Block to finish the trip.
The trip was a pleasant surprise, it was more scenic and diverse than i originally expected. We hiked through 3 sets of narrows, had incredible high camps with great views of the Henry Mountains, Fiddler Cove and lower Hatch Canyon were gorgeous, and the high route above the Dirty Devil River was similar to hiking a high alpine highline trail. Walking the narrow section of The Block might have been the highlight of the trip. The Block is a high plateau with no roads or access to it that is about 1500ft higher than everything around it. The middle section gets narrow, maybe 50 feet or less across, with sheer drop offs on both sides, and has incredible 360 degree views.
