Dungeons and Dragons is one of the funnest games I've ever played, the genetic origin of an entire genre of video games. Only after you play Dungeons and Dragons do you realize that almost every RPG ever made is trying desperately to give you even a fraction of the freedom you have within D&D. Still, this freedom comes with a price, and that's having to sit across the table from a guy wearing 3+ pieces of Deadpool merch who keeps making the only girl in your party uncomfortable. In this video, we explore how Dungeons and Dragons had Many Scandals over the years, including several run-ins with the Satanic Panic crowd, who saw it as the next incarnation of the Anti-Chris, or whatever his name is. Dungeons and Dragons has many scandals outside of just the satanic panic too, such as how it has been routinely banned within prisons for supposedly encouraging gang activity, and of course, the infamous story of Orion Acaba, ex-cast member of the web series Critical Role.
