The Pokemania of the late 90's was a wild time to be alive. Perhaps the last true fad, it swept the entire world, siphoning the money from the wallets of unsuspecting parents like your mum siphons compliments and reassuring messages from me. Pokemon was the victim of intense accusations, ranging from assaults, thefts, and other skulduggery from juveniles desperate for another hit of Pokemon-themed cardboard, to religious folk who determined it to be the next coming of Satan, in adorable cartoon rat form. These accusations, geniune or otherwise, often resulted in Pokemon being banned from schools across the nation, after teachers had to listen to one too many kids complaining about a sour trade or another lunchtime theft. In this video we'll look into the many accusations lobbied against Pokemon, and try get to the bottom of just why Pokemon was banned at everyone's school.
