2023 Genesis Electrified G80 Review | Australia
Hey, Martine is back! She reviews the 2023 Genesis Electrified G80, a luxury EV sedan. There are a few cool features unique to the electrified G80 like the 2 solar panels which make up the roof and harness the sun's energy to help with vehicle range.
Given its size and features the Electrified G80 will be set to compete against other larger electric sedans like the Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan 4 door, and Mercedes EQS.
The electric powertrain in this Genesis EV is a twin-motor e-AWD system.
They deliver 136 kW and 350 Nm to the front and back wheels giving a total of 272 kW of power and a whopping 700 Nm of torque. It will zip you from 0-100km an hour in just 4.9 seconds.
The battery is big! It's bigger then we see in most EVs on today's market, it has a capacity of 87.2 kWh.
The bigger battery usually translates to more range and that's the case here as well. The Electrified G80 has a range of 520 km WLTP. The bigger battery also means you have more battery to charge so your charge times will be more than something like the GV60. Charging times for a standard 11 kW charger will take under 8 hrs to get from 10-100%. A 350kW DC fast charger will get you from 10-80% in just 22 minutes.
The electrified G80 has a Manufacturer's List Price of $145,000 plus another 2,000 for this cool matte paint.
