Dick refers to Roni Menacker’s cookies just before he introduces the Electric Prunes. The clip where she gives him the cookies, he takes a bite and, jokingly, falls on the floor was used frequently in blooper reels on Bandstand Anniversary shows.

May 6 (today) – Proud Clarion wins the 93rd Kentucky Derby. (This may be
the sporting event that will preempt the show that Dick
refers to. Not sure)

As “Little Bit O’Soul” was released only 2 or 3 weeks ago and will just enter the charts next week at #90, this is, most likely, the first time most people in the studio or around the country have ever heard The Music Explosion’s version of the song.
