CVC Funai:Technicolor Tape Loading
The CVC (Compact Video Cassette) format was developed by Funai of Japan and distributed in the US by Technicolor. It used 1/4 inch videotape in a cassette similar in size to an audio cassette. Appearing around 1980, it never caught on with the public, which was then embracing VHS and Beta machines. This video shows the internal threading; an M-load design very similar to what Philips later used in their V2000 decks, sold mostly in Europe.
