EVC200 Tape Loading Angle view

This is an angled view of the tape loading path of a Sony EV-C200 Hi8 deck, showing the M-load mechanism Sony adopted for later models of their 8mm product. This also included the addition of a small "cleaning wheel" that rotated against the head drum during each load/unload cycle to keep the heads clean. Clogged heads were a more common problem in the early days of metal particle and metal evaporated videotape.
