How a Group of Angry Timeshare Owners Legally Shut Down A Wyndham Resort

What can one person do to affect change? Not much, but when enough individuals join forces, a mountain can be moved.

Timeshares were sold in the 80s as being just like real estate, thus easy to sell. Many seniors across America, and worldwide, find themselves held timeshare hostage. Some resorts offer voluntary deed-back programs, but there are still resorts that do not allow an exit, even for those with debilitating and chronic medical conditions.

Hear the anatomy of how a group of determined volunteers took it upon themselves to force change. After the Canadian accounting firm BDO conducted a survey, it was determined that less than 13% of Wyndham Carriage Hills and Carriage Ridge resorts owners, who participated in the survey, wanted the resorts to remain a timeshare. Both resorts have been sold to Sunray, to be converted to whole-use condominiums.
