Mikakos accused of 'breathtaking incompetence' and urged to resign

Victoria's Health Minister Jenny Mikakos has been accused of “breathtaking incompetence” as a key union calls for her resignation.

Health Workers Union boss Diana Asmar has allegedly called on Premier Daniel Andrews to dismiss the Health Minister “for the good of all Victorians”.

According to the Herald Sun, the letter claims Ms Mikakos has “not once displayed even a basic understanding of her portfolio".

Meanwhile, Senior Victorian ministers have told the hotel quarantine inquiry they had been left in the dark about who made the decision to use private security guards.

Police Minster Lisa Neville shed some light on the process, indicating the decision had been made without consulting the police chief.
