Eric von Hippel on Free Innovation

In this lecture, Eric von Hippel starts by presenting national survey findings showing that tens of millions of consumers spend tens of billions of dollars on product development for their personal purposes each year. These innovations are at present a very important - and greatly underutilized - source of valuable new product ideas and prototypes for producers. Von Hippel explains how to better support and better utilize this important “Free Innovation” resource.
