How can we teach innovation and design thinking to improve student employability?

Employers want more from graduate hires than a great degree in a core discipline. They want people who can creatively solve problems, work in teams, collaborate with stakeholders, communicate effectively and demonstrate commercial awareness and resilience.

Interdisciplinary team-based innovation projects using design thinking and related techniques provide a great platform for students to develop such skills, but how best can we develop and deliver them?

This webinar is in two parts. In the first section, Tony Morgan and Dr Lena Jaspersen, authors of Design Thinking for Student Projects, will discuss how they’ve combined their knowledge of industry and academia to develop team-based flagship innovation modules at the University of Leeds. In addition, they’ll share their latest research. In the second half, we want to hear from you, by opening up the discussion for all attendees to share their hints, tips and experiences.
