Pre war Riley 9 Brooklands replica front axle on
I did get some measurements of real Brooklands and also replicas and they were 22 3/8" and 22 1/2". I measured mine now the axle is on and got 22 3/8 so I do need 1/4" spacers under each end of the front cross member to take up the 1/2" gap I see. The chassis rails need to be parallel and mine are slightly in at the rear near the engine mounts so I might need to fix that. The chassis is VERY flexible with nothing tight though so I will make spacers on the front crossmember first then bolt everything up tight and remeasure. The good news is the steering column points mostly in the right direction and the drop arm clears the chassis!
