The return of the ibex to the Swiss Alps - a success story
Switzerland lies at the heart of the Alps. In the Swiss National Park, the oldest existing national
park in the Alps, the behaviour of the Alpine ibex is studied by a young biologist. Seraina Campell Andri wants to find out how many ibex the alpine wilderness can support. Therefore she monitors their numbers and works closely with the park rangers. Her job requires her to climb steep terrain, be patient, and always keep in mind the unpredictable nature of her study subject.
