The Victor Black Box Gopher Trap, available online and usually at your local hardware store Is the best way I have found to reliably deal with a gopher problem relatively quickly. I have tried all the other traps, including the cinch traps, and the easy set variety. This by far is impressive in it's results - which are very clean. I think it's likely because, if you bury it properly, making sure no light is getting through, they don't know it's there, smell the veggie, and spring the trap! Also, trapping saves countless cats and birds of prey from poison...
