Bridge To Nowhere, Amazing Hike In Azusa!

Join us as we explore the East Fork of Azusa Canyon, in Azusa, Ca. on one of the most beautiful hikes in Southern California! The hiking trail was once a road that was going to connect East Fork with Wrightwood. The road made it as far as building a large concrete bridge, then in 1936, a massive flood with purported 110' high flood waters came through causing the project to get cancelled. Remnants of the road still remain as you hike through the forest, along with power poles, and a couple abandoned structures.

This is a moderate difficulty hike, it's 4.98 miles one way to the bridge (according to my GPS track), starts at around 2500 ft. and slowly climbs to 3000 ft. In the summer, it can be sweltering hot and humid. I've personally seen people disabled on this hike from heat stroke and know of at least one person that DIED out here. 1. Don't hike it alone. 2. Tell others your plan and return time. 3. Carry lots of water, a hat, sunscreen, first aid, and wear BOOTS not shoes. 4. Bring food. Be prepared!
The bridge is now privately owned, and a bungee jumping company "Bungee America" uses the bridge for bungee jumping. Check out their awesome website and the fun packages they offer, between the beautiful hike and jumping off a bridge, it would be a very memorable day!
Watch this video of the hike, then check out the awesome company that owns the bridge, and go BUNGEE JUMPING off it! http://www.bungeeamerica.com/
