"Karting Dash" by MaxyLAND [All Coins] | Geometry Dash 2.11

MaxyLAND made a really impressive car racing level a couple of years ago called "Car Crash", and this is a direct sequel to that. If you haven't seen it before, I recommend checking it out real quick to see the improvements here. The prequel was a lot more pixellated and didn't have any options before playing. There are massive improvements to the visuals on display here, both for the cars and the map, which is inspired by Mushroom Gorge from Mario Kart Wii. This also has way more options at the start, allowing you to pick between 2 modes, different velocities, and 6 different car designs. I played both modes at the highest velocity here. The first can be seen from the start, while the second can be seen from 4:15.

There really isn't much to complain about here. The visuals do their job very well, while the gameplay is among the best I've seen in minigames like this. Different options to pick from make it quite fun to replay as well. Luckily, there aren't many bugs either. The only one I noticed is that the hitboxes are a bit off towards the later laps, especially on the bridges. A good example of this can be seen at 2:39. This is probably due to some follow triggers going further and further off on higher refresh rates, so I'm guessing it'll work a bit better for everyone who plays on 60Hz. Despite these minor bugs, there aren't many issues. MaxyLAND did a great job of making a car racing minigame in Geometry Dash with 2.1's tools. I can't wait to see what creators like him do with all of the new 2.2 tools. All in all, this deserves an Epic 3 Star rating in my opinion.
