Benjamina Ebuehi's Cheese & Onion Buns | At Home | Waitrose
We are with baker, recipe writer and author Benjamina Ebuehi as she makes delicious, savoury cheese and onion buns from her new book, A Good Day to Bake.
These soft, pillowy buns are filled with sweet, mellow salad onions as well as cream cheese and marmite. The marmite isn’t at all overpowering and really helps with a subtle umami flavour. These buns can be enjoyed hot or cold and are perfect to pop into a picnic.

Ingredients:
400g strong white bread flour, plus extra for rolling
10g fast-action dried yeast
1 tbsp caster sugar
1 tsp fine salt
200ml milk, lukewarm
1 British Blacktail Free Range Large Egg, beaten
50g unsalted butter, softened, plus extra for greasing
For the filling
120g soft cheese
1 tsp Marmite
1 bunch salad onions
90g French Comté AOP
